International phonetic alphabet

Sometimes, customer service departments and suchlike are, shall we say, less than helpful.

When they are, I can be also unhelpful.

Feigning to have no knowledge of the IPA, when they ask for serial numbers and such like, there are some belters to throw at them:

A for Aesthetic
T for Two
P for Physician
X for xenon

And my favourite of all:

L for llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!

Another thing is, when giving a number the 0 is always pronounced O. Example, 321O. Why is this done?

Retep1949 I also say zero when on the phone because when you say o it can sound like 4

I also say zero, but I also use the International Phonetic Alphabet because it's something I became accustomed to when my husband was in the Royal Signals. I think all Servicemen use that so, over a period of years working with the Army, it was drilled into me, and I still use it.

Yes, I can't hear 'Whiskey-Tango' without the visual imagery of inebriates flailing and failing on the dance floor!
